Duplicate and rename your articles
We created 3 ScreenSteps articles - one about creating an account, editing an account, and deleting an account. I walked you through the steps for creating content for one article, so now I want you to create the content for the other two. It shouldn't take very long - just use your hotkey to grab a few images, add the annotations, modify the headings, add some paragraph text (if necessary), and check the article in.
Once you're done, you should have 3 pretty short articles that walk somebody through the steps of creating, editing, and deleting accounts.
But for your prototype, I want you to have more than just 3 articles - you need to show your team what it will look like to have a table of contents online and maybe even a PDF of your manual. So, to make your prototype seem more full than it really is, we're just going to duplicate the three articles, rename them, and put them in the other chapters of the manual.
Choose a chapter
Rename the duplicated articles
Your articles will have the same name along with (copied) after the title. We want to change that.
Click the pencil icon
Make the articles visible to the public
Next to each article, click on the gear box and select "Make visible to the public."
Repeat for the third chapter
I did the exact same thing for the third chapter - just duplicate articles, rename them, and make them visible to the public.
Now it looks like you have a nice little knowledge base. If you decide to move forward with ScreenSteps, you can always update the articles and replace the images or rewrite the text - but for the purposes of creating a prototype to show your team, this should suffice.
You can make more chapters if you'd like to see what a larger table of contents would look like.
